The club lake is situated at Coalhouse Fort in East Tilbury. The lake itself is some 1189′ in length and approx 187′ wide at its narrowest point, marks are situated at a approx distance of 200′ between each set of three. It enjoys a reasonably open aspect but being semi circular in shape and set between the Fort and the River Thames it can provide challenging conditions in which to enjoy a days sailing.  It should be noted that the side of the lake is an all grassed area and that suitable footwear be used by competitors. The lake itself is saltwater and boats should be washed down in fresh water as soon as practicable after sailing.

Cafe and WC facilities are available at the main entrance to the Fort, just a short walk from the lakeside. Ample free parking is provided at the entrance to the site.  On open days additional parking is made available, you will be directed to this area when it is being employed.

By road:
From Junction 30 on the M25 travel East (towards Southend) along the A13 to the A128 roundabout
Take the third exit along the A1013. Follow the signs for East Tilbury
Approx 3/4 of a mile you will turn RIGHT into BUCKINGHAM HILL ROAD follow the brown tourist signs to Coalhouse Fort and East Tilbury
Once in Buckingham Hill Road keep going and you will enter the village of LINFORD, carry on ahead at mini-roundabout
Over the rail crossing at East Tilbury Station, passing through East Tilbury then East Tilbury Village
At the end of the Village you will enter the Coalhouse Fort Park car park on the right.

Please drive carefully through the village

From the East take the A13 to Stanford Le Hope junction and take the second exit on to the A1013 Turn left on to Buckingham Hill Road. Once in Buckingham Hill Road keep going and you will enter the village of LINFORD, carry on ahead at mini-roundabout
Over the rail crossing at East Tilbury Station, passing through East Tilbury then East Tilbury Village
At the end of the Village you will enter the Coalhouse Fort Park car park on the right.
