A big group of club members met up at the Coalhouse Fort Cafe for the 205/26 Winter series prize giving with a breakfast.
Our Commodore officiated and the event went down great, and everyone suggested to do a similar breakfast gathering soon.
Racing started a bit later of course, and we had 5 members mostly using shorter keels as the level of the lake has dropped significantly.
The wind was very light and south easterly going south, which made course laying difficult as the RO was worried about water depth around the outer marks, especially on the north shoreline.
Shortened keels and shorts were essential gear. The course eventually settled on Start 1-12, X Port, 13 Port, 10 Starboard, X Port, 13 Port, and a finish between 11 and 12.
We had a short hydration / Shelter break around 12:30 and by then the wind had dropped further and swung south, at this point the competitors opinion was to finish early after four enjoyable races and breakfast and call it a day to go cool down.
Thanks to all who attended, both for the Prize giving / Breakfast and the racing, lets pray for some water to fill the lake on the high tides or rain soon.
Keep a watch on the WhatsApp messages as the committee will be keeping a close check on the water level and launching issue.
Thanks, regards, Paul
PS. Racing very, close with James leading followed by Glen then Dennis
